Duty to God Footsteps up Prayer Mountain

A very special Wolf Den Adventure took place on Nov.30th atop Wimberley's "Prayer Mountain", also known as Old Baldy or Mt. Baldy. Although the boys and their parents had to climb 218 steps to reach the top, they seemed to enjoy the panoramic views and sites of Wimberley as the sun went down. They also spotted the bible verse on one of the 218 steps, the Baptist church cross, and the Veterans Memorial hill at Emily Ann Theater and Gardens. It was quite moving as each scout stood up in front of their den and shared a favorite prayer, religious song, comment, or religious symbol. It was moving to hear a few of the scouts stand up and say "God can do anything. He is awesome". This hike up Prayer Mountain and the discussions that took place up there brought us all "a little closer to God" while fulfilling the requirements necessary to obtain the 'Duty to God Footsteps' Adventure Belt Loop.
