Sleeping with the Sharks - June 23, 2018

posted May 14, 2018, 10:28 AM by Pack 127
Imagine finding yourself at midnight surrounded by sharks, stingrays, alligators, snakes, and poison dart frogs. Sounds just like San Antonio Aquarium after the lights go out, the guests and staff go home, the birds fall asleep, and the octopus comes out to eat and shake tentacles with an unexpecting human.

Guides take groups on an educational tour of the exhibits where there is an opportunity to help feed the stingrays their dinner, view spectacular varieties of corals under ultraviolet light, touch and hold some of the reptiles that are normally housed behind-the-scenes, and interact with several nocturnal species, such as the sharks, rays, octopus, horseshoe crabs, blue spiny lobster, snakes, and tree frogs.

After the tour, you are welcome to explore the exhibits on your own, and your host or hostess may even treat you to a play session with Pearl the Giant Pacific Octopus, or selfies with Lucille the Ball Python! The general play areas will be available to children, and each guest will receive glow toys such as necklaces and bracelets, to enjoy in the dark. Toward the end of the evening, wind down with a movie and popcorn, followed by a restful night by the rhythmic bubbles and currents of the tanks.
